What's the Frequency Kenneth?

As an Israeli, I want to know. I already know that there are people all over Europe and North America that hear Israel’s message as “blah, blah, blah” or if they’re Seinfeld fans they hear “yada, yada, yada.” Or maybe you hear Yanny and others hear Laurel. As far as harmless internet crazes go, that’s a funny thing about our brain and how we may experience the same thing differently. This other phenomena that I’m writing about is something else entirely.

As an Israeli I can live with the fact that you might automatically tune me out simply because I am Israeli. I wish it wasn’t so, but I refuse to scream or raise my voice so that you might hear me. But if you could listen, just for a second or two, I’d like to ask a question. Why can’t you hear what Hamas, the leaders of the Gaza riots are saying?

At what frequency might you be able to hear his words?

If I repeat what Hamas said, that 50 of its soldiers, made up the vast number of those killed attempting to breach the border could you hear me?

Don’t listen to a word I say. But please, listen to Hamas.

People talk about identity politics. In the mainstream it means something other than how I define it. I define it as people who confuse their political view with who they are, making anything that runs contrary to it a personal attack. The problem is that believing you are your opinion seems to cause hearing loss. Hamas is speaking with great clarity and you act as if you haven’t heard a word they are saying.
